Seth Hunter Sweeney

Seth was born on December 31, 1999. We knew early in my pregnancy that Seth would be born with Spina Bifida. The way that his spine and ribs developed causes his lungs to be restricted. This is why Seth is on a ventilator.
He is 4 years old now. All of those things that seemed so frightening 4 1/2 years ago, aren't so frightening anymore. He is still on the vent with O2 day and night. He is unable to walk and a powered wheel-chair has been added to our home about the time of his 4th birthday. He loves the mobility and is getting better all of the time.
He has a baby sister who was born in Sept of 2002. This was a surprise but a very good one. They are best buddies. Seth seems so much less fragile now that he has a little sister to tackle and be tackled by. He has a super personality!! He goes to pre-school and is a big flirt with all of his teachers, therapists and the nurse that goes with him. My husband and I are so thankful that God chose us to be his parents.
