Dylan Law

Dylan is seven and a half years old.  He has Cerebral Palsy - severe spastic quad, Hypothyroidism, and epilepsy. He had the trachea put in 3 years ago, because of a bout of Pneumonia, which he was battling to recover from. It was discovered that Dylan had a spinal cord compression on C2/3 level and the doctors felt this was the cause of the pneumonia. This was surgically corrected, but the trach has remained in place. Dylan has had a nasogastric tube since the trachea.  He does eat, but not enough to sustain him. Dylan also has a high CO2 level, and requires occasional overnight ventilation.  We have now been told that Dylan has severe Tracheomalacia - so we have to learn to live with the trach for a bit longer.

Thanks,
Barbara
