Laryngeal Diversion

- A. Normal Anatomy. Note relationship between trachea and esophagus.
- B. Laryngeal diversion in which superior trachea (ST) is closed and the lower trachea (LT) is sutured to the neck skin. The esophagus (E) is left untouched.

C. Laryngeal diversion in which the superior trachea (ST) is diverted into the esophagus (E). The lower trachea (LT) is sutured to the neck skin.
