My son has a LTV 900. It's great. There are in our case more pro's then con's. It's a lot easier to travel with then other vents. It has different modes on it to provide either volume ventilation or pressure support or c-pap. My son currently is on a pressure support of 10 during the day and a rate of 20 at night. We are currently working on weaning him off pressure support during the day. The only problem we have had with it is about every four months a bearing will wear out. It doesn't stop working but instead will start to make a loud whine. We then know to switch to his back-up vent and call the equipment company. My son was trached and put on a vent at six months, he is now 2 1/2. It does cost a good deal more then other vents, I think ours cost around $13,000. He has two of them. We rented them for about a year and I believe the rental for each of them was around $650.00 a month. Thankfully Jimmy has Medicaid Tech Waiver that pays for his vents.
