Right now Livi is CPAP vented 24/7. Â*On 4-21 we go in for her 1st trach clinic appt. Â*At that pt, the plan is to remove the pressures a little, trying to get down to atleast half days of no CPAP. Â*We were just trying to get her CBG's (CO2) into the 40's. Â*She was 51-53 CO2 the week of discharge. Â*

Can anyone explain how this is normally done? Â*I think I've seen it mentioned as sprinting on here.

Thank you! Â*You guys have been a big help!

What sprinting is when the take the child off the vent for a half hour at a time see how they do and test them to make sure they are doing well. As soon as they master staying off and doing well with sats they will proceed to an hour twice a day. And keep going up every week. Until they are completely off. I am going to be taking my daughter on Wednesday to get her to start sprinting. I hope this works... I hope this helps you and you find your answers...

Sprinting - that's exciting. It's your first big step to coming off the vent and away from those darn hoses!
