Hey, I havent been to the boards in a while but I wanted to posted an update. Several people helped me out when it came to the topic so i thought I would share.

The docs FINALLY decided to do a Nissen. Here is the story:
The surgeon said they have two options but will not know which one they can do until they get inside and see how much scar tissue there is. John’s CDH surgery there may be some scar tissue and it may effect the decision to do the the Nissen (also a fundo Plication). If they can do the Nissen they will just put in a G tube. If not than they will put in the G tube and J tube. A Nissen is a surgical procedure of tucking or folding the fundus of the stomach around the esophagus to prevent reflux. A G and J tube is basically just a tube coming out of the Jejunum and stomach for feedings. She said the surgery will still be on the 21st even though I begged to do it sooner. She will be at a surgeons convention all week and next week her schedule is packed. However, she did promise me that if she had an opening for any reason she will pop John in there. She did John’s first surgery and knows him well.

That's it... Wish us luck! I hope it helps with the reflux!

Sam had the nissen in May and he has been fine. Here's hoping all goes well for little John. Keep us updated when you can.
