Hi Everyone,
Sorry to be away so long! Tristan has been admitted to the hospital with aspiration pneumonia since Monday! He is getting back to himself slowly but surely. He's been on IV antibiotics and steroids. It always amazes me the difference after the first dose of IV steroids. He had some problems with slowed heart rate while on the steroids/ Does anyone else have this symptom? They did an EKG, Echo, and put him on telemetry to monitor him more closely this time.
Since this is his 6th round of pneumonia in 5 months and it was due to aspiration we have finally decided to go through with the Nissen. They will schedule it in 2-3 weeks so he will hopefully be past this episode and maybe before the next episode (wishful thinking I'm sure )
Oh, by the way, my other baby (Mya) was discharged today also! We all came home together! I wanted to fall down and kiss my kitchen floor when we came in! I ran back and forth between rooms the entire week and it's great to have my little ones home and in the same area.
Blessings,
Dawna

Wow, sounds like you had a rough week. I am gald to hear things are getting better. My son should be getting the nissen next week. I am confident that it will help with his reflux. The docs were also concerned with aspiration so I am sure it will help you. Good luck and I will be thinking of you!

Wow, that really must be tough having 2 kids in the hospital at the same time. Whew! I'm glad it's over though. I'll be keeping Tristan in my prayers and hoping the Nissen surgery goes well.

It's for reasons like this that I'm OK with the boys' Nissens.
You just can't put yourselves through that anymore. Good luck- I hope Tristan is feeling better soon. And I hope your perm has relaxed a little ha ha. Just kidding- it wasn't big at all!

Glad you've got your little ones home. The nissen should be a big help, we haven't looked back since Sam had his done.
Love Julie
