Just a short update on Holly. She has been capped(during the day) since friday and she is doing good. She has gotten choked a couple of times and I have had to reminder her to cough out her mouth. When she use to cough she would cover her trach with her hand, now she has started covering her mouth. She is so smart!!! I have noticed with her cap on her O2 are higher and with it off they drop. Has anyone experinced this?
Thanks for your continue prayers.

Misty

That is great news! I was just reading Holly's story on Aaron's page a few days ago - she is quite a little fighter.

I don't know about with the cap, but Jacob tends to sat 2-3% higher with his PMV. It has to be from the back pressure that keeps some PEEP in the lungs.

Best wishes for continued success with capping.

Misty,

Such great news! Tell Holly to keep up the good work! Tristan also has higher sats with his PMV on. We aren't capping yet, so I don't know about that.

Blessings,

Dawna

Misty,

We've not been able to cap Hannah yet, but I've heard, for the same reasons Amanda mentioned, that capping or even a PMV restores some of the natural PEEP and will help their sats go up.

Holly darling, keep up the great work!

Jennie
