Wow, I finally got to meet Rachel and Karabeth last night. I hadnt realized how close we lived (about a 5 minute drive). Kara is such a beautiful girl with super blonde hair, and she was babbling during her feeding and looking very content. I cant wait to take Alli over to meet her too.
Rachel, thanks for the syringes. My husband thought he was about to starve when I got home with the pizza! LOL

There are two children with trachs very close to us-one about 5 minutes (1 year old) and the other about 15 minutes (10 mo. old). We have become very, very close to one family (if you were on our website, there is a pic of Zoe with Joey). In fact, their story is so close to ours, it's creepy. They have really become invaluable resources and great friends. Imagine the sight we made on Friday going to rummage sales with Joey, his mom, and all our equipment!

Deb,
It was SO nice to meet you. I can't wait to meet Alli. Just let me know when. I figured by the time you got home he would have eaten something else ANd not a problem at all with the syringes, we have a ton of them.

I to have met Rachel and Kara Beth. They have seen me several times up here at Children's hospital. I even got to hold Kara for a while one day. She just slept in my arms. She is so pretty and I love her a bunch. She is just an angel.
Oh and ummm Rachel is nice too but you know with me its all about the babies! :-) No really Rachel is a sweetheart and I think its great that we met. I didnt realize we all live this close together. Maybe one day we could all hook up and meet.

I am so jealous that you all have met and live so close together!
I've talked to Rachel on the phone several times, if that counts for anything. (haha)
I don't really have anyone around me that has a trach. I have one friend that has a daughter with Treacher Collins Syndrome that has one. She has come and baby sat for me before, but she works as a respiratory therapist and is very busy with her daughter.
I'm just trying to get you all to feel sorry for me. (just kidding). I really am glad that you all have found each other.
God Bless!!
