We have been in the hospital for a week now and it was determined that Keyan has severe aspiration and reflux. She is scheduled for a nissan and G tube early next week. Did you all see a vast improvment as far as weight gain goes when using a feeding tube? How about developmentally? She is quickly falling behind and we are hoping that when she doesn't have to work so hard to breath she will make great strides. Anybody have any words of wisdom?

Thanks,
Stephanie

I am sorry to hear that Keyan has aspiration and reflux, and I pray that the g-tube and nissen will help with that. Each child is different, but I think that, across the board, they all have a greater chance of making developmental strides when they aren't struggling to breathe and using all of their energy to stay alive. I hope this helps a little and I hope Keyan does make great strides.

Best wishes!
