Hi. I am intrigued by your name as I am "Zach's Grandma" too--thus zachgram. My Zach was born February 7 at 28 week gestation. He's been on a vent since birth and last week had a trach and a g-tube insertion. He's been diagnosed with congenital myotonic dystrophy, which is one of the seven forms of muscular dystrophy. I've read all the profiles on this site and so far have found none with Zach's problem. I don't know whether that's good or bad. Anyway, hang in there and I'll try to do the same.

Welcome ladies! Â*How wonderful that you are so involved in the lives of your special grand-babies. Â*I wish I could say the same for my mom! Â*Your children are very lucky. Â*My son is 6 years old and has an undiagnosed neuromuscular disease and is ventilator dependent 24/7. Â*You will find lots of support and information from the amazing parents and a few other grandparents on this board. Â*I would only suggest that you post your questions on the pediatric tracheostomy board as it is much more active and those of us with kids on vents tend to post there rather than this board. Again, welcome and I think if you repost on the trach board, you will get reponses to your questions.

Ann
