Dried blood = gtube, stool?

Well, We rushed Travis to the ER tonight. I was wondering if anyone else hs experianced this??

This afternoon we noticed some brown gunk around his Gtube site tht looked lke dried blood. Several hours later I changed his diaper and he had alot of dried blood in his stool. It was not Red, more orange type of tinge. I took him to the ER, Sats were good and while there he started having alot of tinges of blood from the Trach.

The ER doc took a chest X-Ray and said the blood in the stool and Gtube mut of been from something iratated in the airway or trachea which caused him to have blood in his stomach. I was very surprised that they sent me home and told me to follow up with my pied.

Has anyone experianced anything like this?

Jake gets dried up gunk around his g-tube periodically, but we've never noticed blood in his stool. You did the right thing by going to the hospital, but I'm surprised all they did was an X-ray...I'd definitely go see the Pediatrician as soon as possible.
