Brian is in the ICU at Childrens in Dallas. He was transported early Friday morning by ambulance. He appears to have an infection going on. The antibiotic that he has been on does not seem to be doing the job, so he is being switched to a stronger medication today. Drug sensitivities have not been figured out yet. The good news is that he is not acting sick. He is very playful and happy. No fever, but his oxygen requirement is about 70%. His chest x-ray looks worse then normal right now, too. Hopefully the new antibiotic will kick in and help him out in the next 24 hours. His O2 has to come down to 40% in order for him to come back home. He will remain in the ICU until his O2 requirements start coming down and then will move to a regular room and get discharged from there after he is stable. We were hoping that he would already be on his way to coming home, but it looks like it will be a little longer then we thought.

Sandra is battling a sinus infection and Christopher an ear infection, so this has been very tiring. Please pray for the energy to deal with all this and that Brian is home soon.

I hope you guys can get out of there quickly! I know Ariel has had a number of times where she was in the PICU and everyone kept commenting that she didn't act like she was sick. Our kids are so strong.

Sandra, I hope you, Christopher and especially Brian recover quickly - And I hope they figure out the sensitivities soon - I wish they knew a way to do that faster, Our experience is a prime example that that can sometimes take too long...Our prayers are with you.

Sandra,

I hope that Brian is better and is home soon. Gaithy used to be like that too - acting like she felt great but her lungs would be a mess! I was always amazed. She never acted like she felt bad unless there was a fever. She would be diagnosed with pneumonia, but no fever, seemed fine on the outside. I guess that's common with kids especially...? Anyway, I hope he's well soon. I know being in the hospital is rough.
