We left home on Friday evening. My class reunion, 25th, was on Saturday night. We trained one of Jarita's aunts in trach care on Saturday, so she could watch Mason. Turned out a respid nurse, relative of her aunts showed up so Mason was well cared for for the 2.5 hours Jarita and I spent out together.

We got home on Sunday the 4th. We took Mason to the firewrks on Sunday night. He was amazed by them to say the least. Keeping him out of the smoke from sparklers and other private fireworks was a top priority for us. All went well and we had a great weekend.

Photos at this link.

Mason goes in on Friday the 9th for more laser surgery. All should go well as they will just rim the growth from the airway again if any has grown back. Of course we are hopeing the hemangeoma has stopped growing. They will also upsize his trach on this visit.

So glad you and Jarita were able to get away for a bit knowing that Mason was in good and capable hands. It's also nice that Mason was able to enjoy his first 4th of July.

Good luck with Mason's surgery on Friday and I loved the pics . . . thanks for sharing.

Sounds like you had a great weekend. What a wonderful surprise to have the extra set of hands watching Mason so that you and Jarita could enjoy a few hours out.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. They are precious. Also, good luck Friday and keep us posted on the outcome.

So glad you and Jarita were able to spend some time alone and not have to worry about Mason too much! It is so important to have that, especially when you have a special needs child. We have our nurse coming every other Friday and, no matter what, we go out.

P.S. He is such a cutie!!
