Default Tape issues!

This will probably sound a little uh.. weird..

Jayme got decannulated! But now I'm having a hard time finding something to hold on her dressing We've tried the bandaid tape, paper tape, cloth tape - All are destroying her little neck. Is there anything without adhesive that I could use?!

Congrats!
I have no idea if this would work...but could you put that gauzy Johnson's hurt-free wrap around her neck and then tape that? (Kind of like a trach tie, I guess)?
Might not be tight enough to hold the dressing, though.

Tegaderm. It's a one-piece, sterile, super-sticky dressing coverage that is typically used with central lines like PICCs and ports.

Congrats!
We used trach ties fastened to gauze at first. Tape also irritated Ezra's neck and tegaderm failed all together for him. But I've heard plenty of people say it has worked for them. His stoma is now a pinhole and although he still breathes out of it we keep it uncovered because it was too much of a hassle.

Congrats! All these suggestions sound great to me, but if you wanted to try an adhesive in the future, I'd suggest medipore soft surgical tape. I'm allergic to most tapes out there, and sensitive to tegaderm for my portacath, but the medipore tape works great for me! No skin breakdown so far.

we are having the same issues. Our son was also just decan and is allergic to tegaderm and various other tapes. I've tried using trach ties but he seems to pull the gauze out from under it and its really not quite low enough to cover the site. I've tried about every band aide out there and still has redness around his neck. The only thing that seems to work is gauze over the site and then a piece of duoderm. I hate using this because its not meant to be removed daily so its hard on the skin but its not breaking him out. Ugh...

Medline makes 2 x 2 bordered gauze. They have been GREAT. Its super gentle on Natalie's skin and we used it a lot when she first was decanned until her skin got a bit more tough so to speak. Its a bit pricey, but you can get ok deals online. It was by far the best thing we got for her because she got a rash from everything. CVS also makes a hypoallergenic band aide but we need to use two if covering her stoma.
