Default aqua PMV vs purple/clear PMV

i thought I'd post this for someone else future reference...

when we first got a PMV they gave us an aqua one which is meant to be used with the ventilator- but they said we could use it without and it would work just the same as the purple/clear kind

Caleb has had minimal success on the aqua one. we had to drill a hole in it and it was either hit or miss.

He has always been very sensitive to the smallest change in repirtory status for him so we finally got the purple one- and so far he has worn it more today than he has worn the aqua one in the past week.

i'm not ready to say it's a success. but i thought it was interesting that he could tell the difference between the two.

Addy's speech therapist once suggested trying the aqua one because she said they are slightly different. We never did order the aqua one. I don't remember why.

Interesting. We were told the clear one could be used on vent or without the vent. I'd bet the aquatic seals more tightly to prevent vent alarms
