Default New to the collar!

J just got off the ventilator and is now on the heated trach collar - the circuit is always falling off of the dome and I was wondering if there was anything anyone did (that was safe) to help it stick on longer?

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean the blue corrugated tubing is coming off the heater chamber?

Hmmm weird. Ours is really tough to get on and off. Sounds like maybe you need different tubing?

Maybe re-cut the blue tubing? Sometimes if its cut wrong it can be a loose.

I must be dense. I'm not understanding what a "collar dome" is. The only 2 connections I can think of would be to the heater (or compressor) or the trach mask.

I think she means the trach mask. It's kind of shaped like a dome.

Yes I think she means the trach mask. What we do when that happens we just put some tape around the end of the blue tube to make it a tighter fit. And once that is not working anymore, we change the tube.

Aaahhhh!

Yeppers. You can trim the tubing down by 1 inch to see if that'll provide a fit that is more snug. Strange. I never had a problem with it popping out unless there was a lot of tugging. Do you have it so the lip of the trach mask is inside one of the corrugated groves?
