As the registration deadline for the First Tracheostomy.com Pediatric Conference being held in St. Louis June 3 – June 5 is only a few weeks away, I just wanted to remind everyone that has not yet registered that there is still time.

It seems like yesterday that the idea of a tracheostomy conference was thrown out on the message board. Well now, 6 months later, the idea is soon to be a realty and like others, I am so looking forward to meeting everyone that I have come to know as my second family.

If you would like to attend, but financially don’t see how you can manage, please don’t hesitate to contact Ann or myself privately. We can’t guarantee anything, but will sure see what we can do to help you out. Also, consider talking to your child’s doctors, your local hospital and even employers to see if they would be willing to help cover some or all of the costs in order for you and your family to attend the conference. A few months ago I contacted a few local companies where family members worked and asked if they would like to sponsor a game booth at the Saturday evening carnival. When I told them our story, they did not hesitate to say “yes”. It only took a few minutes of my time and I collected $300 to put towards the conference.

If you have any questions regarding the conference, you can post them on the message board or email Ann or myself directly. My email address is skaren359@aol.com.

Thanks.

I just said to my husband that we needed to get our act together before May 15th!! Still working on logistics-he's now starting a new job on May 3rd-but if we can only be there 24 hrs, then that's what we're going to do. Thanks for the reminder!
