Default Will Atrovent neb treatments help reduce ORAL secretions?

Will Atrovent neb treatments help reduce ORAL secretions?

Caleb is having so much saliva and trouble swallowing it (teething+weak swallow etc.) The pulmo today want to start him on Atrovent BID thinking it may help reduce his oral secretions...she said to stick with it as long as it doesn't make his trach secretions too thick. Won't it just make his oral secretions thick? She also wants him to have a salivagram done..to make sure he isnt' microaspirating.

We use Atrovent (Luke is allergic to Albuterol) on a regular basis and Luke becuase of his facial paresis is still drooling most of time. We also have a nasal Atrovent that is a spray up into Luke's nose. I don't use it much unless he is really snotty. However, I am not sure if since it is the upper airway if the nasal would work and help the mouth saliva as well. I can't really say one way or another for Luke as we don't use it enough for me to have noticed either way.

Just remembered..I forgot to tell you we use Robinal for oral secretions. I could only imagine how much more he would have if we didn't take anything for them.
