Default Church?

Does anyone go to church with their little ones? We really want to get back involved in our church. With Jordyn needing to be suctioned fairly often I wondered how others handle this?

I have been wishing/wondering the same thing. Some churches have a "cry room" for babies but ours doesn't. Our church is so crowded too I don't think we'd have a good place for our stoller etc....I so want to be able to take him though- curious what others have to say on this.

Our church has a prayer room connected to the sanctuary. It is now unofficially "Logan's Room". Otherwise, our nursery has speakers so the sermon is piped in.
We also have the last four or five rows of pews designated for families with small children so that we can get up and walk out if we have to.

When Joshie isn't having any issues or we aren't in the middle of RSV season I take him and I just stay in the nursery with him. It's not the same as going to church but at least we get the fellowship. My husband runs our sound and our older children are very involved that I usually stay home with him. If we have a nurse I will go to church. This has been my hardest issue to deal with personally. I have even tried finding a nurse to go along so she can sit in nursery and I can go into the service..no luck there. So, I try to go every wed nite to at least get that service. Joshie has to be suctioned alot so I have yet to take him into the actual service but I have often wanted to.

Either the nurse or one of us went to Sunday school with him when he was trached. Now we just drop him off. Our church has a system where all the kids get nametag stickers with a code on them. If they need the parents they flash that code on the screen. So far it's never gone off for us.

We went to church (go I should say) with Mitchell. We have a contemporary service and a traditional. When he was little and trached we went to both-now that he's older we go to the contemporary because it's more kid friendly. Suctioning-I would usually bring him out to the lounge or a bathroom or something. You could ask your pastor/priest where you could go-they should be open with that. We always just sat where I knew I could get out in a hurry if I needed. Mitchell never needed tons of suctioning. Usually I'd try to suction him right before the service started and he'd be fine the entire time-or he may need it once.

Give it a shot-you'll never know unless you try. Now Sunday School...that's an entirely different story. We try but it is tough-so we opt to just go to church for now. I've really started enjoying it again.

We always sat in back. the church had a porch so we could just nip into there if we needed to suction

This is my problem too! I love church, but Jay is so fragile. Right now, KLOVE and sermons on the net-will do. Today, I sent my hubby and I stayed home with Jay. One of our problems is no parking places-except on the street-which makes it hard-wheelchair, feeding tube, vent. ect....it's all too much. I can't believe we've decided to take a trip to Orlando in may. I figured, at least they have parking lots and it's warm.

I have always gone to church, but since Evan has been out of the hospital we don't go much. I don't know if it is all the hugging and hand shaking or what but we both get sick whenever we go.

Come to think of it, maybe if we went more often we wouldn't get so much attention when we do come ... hmmm....

LOL Jamie......everytime I take Joshie he gets sick and he has a cold right now so we are hanging out here at home....I'm hoping this summer we can go without catching something. I guess he gets something bc I do take him into the nursery but its the only real place I have to take him. We are a rather small church and we are all pretty close.
