I do not mean to sound stupid, but could someone tell me what you call a doctor who deals with feeding issues? Is it a gastroentologist(sp?)? Also, are there special pediatric ones? Also, when there are problems in the esophagus are these the ones you see? Any help would be appreciated. Our doctor is waiting to look at the MRI before he recommends a specialist for the hemangioma in her esophagus. And I can't wait for him, I am curious now so I can start looking for one close to home.

Kim, you could try starting with a speech therapist. They work extensively with feeding issues as speech and eating seem to be closely related. We just found out about a Developmental Pediatrician who may help us with feeding issues so you might also go that route. The G.I.s seem to be more about the actual systems and if they function rather than the "how to"s of feeding. Good luck, Deb
