Default Hi from the UK.

Hi my name Greg and my Girlfriends name is Parris. We together have our beautiful baby boy Luca. Luca was born prem at 25weeks+ 4days on the 14 of January 2009 weighing in at 2lb3oz which was quite a size for how early he was. He was ventilator dependant from birth. The first three months of being in NNU (NICU) was just a roller coaster, infection after infection. He was tryed on CPAP via Nasal mask numerous times becoming shorter periods each time meaning he had to be re intubated. This caused him to develop alot of scar tissue almost completely blocking the air way. He had his tracheostomy inserted at the end of april and it was the best decision we had ever made!

There is lots more to tell but I need alot more time and alot more space

Now Luca is 17 months old and is really starting to explore the world becoming more active and stronger by the day (although he is currently unwell).

Hi Greg,

My daughter Nadia was also born at 25 + 4 weeks and turned 2 a week ago (very old picture below!). We live in London and she is under the care of GOSH, though her trachy was first put in at St Mary's Paddington when she was 4 months old. Apart from her trachy Nadia has done amazingly well and we are just waiting to hear when we can start to think about corrective surgery.

Where abouts in London do you live?

Sarah x
