HI I just wanted to take a minute to tell everyone that Alli is doing good so far without her trach! Yesterday was one week! We saw the ORL for a follow-up this afternoon and he was very pleased. He says the wheezing we are hearing isnt all from her asthma, her airway is still a bit small and her body is trying to find the "best" way to breathe. She doesn't "remember" how to relax her vocal cords. As she grows this should improve. If it doesnt he said she may need some stretching later on. (Im not sure how this is done) We see the pulm tomorrow afternoon...Im wondering if there are any fast-acting inhalers like adults use that are suitable for kids her age. Alli gets very upset whenever we must go anywhere in the carseat and a quick shot from an inhaler might be just what she needs to stop the increasing wheezes. Her color remains good and her activity level hasnt decreased a bit. We are so happy! Deb
