Default medicaid

If this wasn't so frustrating, it would be laughable...

Nate had a bronch done last fall, just like every year. I had gotten a bill from the hospital with a balance due. Since it's always been covered, we called to check it out and they said medicaid had denied it. So my husband called medicaid to inquire. Unfortunately neither he nor I are able to discuss claims as "Nathaniel is the head of his medicaid coverage and without a signed release, we are unable to speak to you about any claims." ha!!! So we have a call in to the local SRS caseworker. I want to ask them why I'm the one who fills out the 20 page renewal form every year, but can't ask a darn question about my son's coverage. Stupid government agencies (no offense to anyone who works for the government!!! )

Tell them you will get right on getting that signed release form from your 6 year-old.

Idiots.

I was a bit pissy with our local Children's Emergency Department. When I called they refused to give me the results of a trachial aspirit, saying I'd have to called the pediatrician or come in and sign a waiver.

I hope things get sorted out and it's not a total nightmare!

Usually the hospital should be able to explain why it was denied by Medicaid. Typically medicaid always gives a reason why it was denied.

It may not have been submitted correctly or with certain information missing. Occasionally medicaid does have glitches and it needs to be resubmitted!

Good luck!

Thats hilarious!!! They pulled the info up in order to know that he is the "head of his medical coverage", so they can also see how old he is! Tell them to send you the form and you will have him sign it!!!!
