Default I love driving 40 minutes and going to a hospital appointment that is running late...

Drive 40 minutes to make it to a 12:00 hospital appointment then at 1:30 I finally ask the secretary what time the doctor would expect to see us?
She then informs me that there is one more person before me.........Freaking crap!! I then informed her I had to leave as I had to drive back another 40 minutes to get our oldest daughter from school so had to re-schedule.

Man, that happened to me today too! I think they forgot me at the orthodontist.

With my boys I mention ahead that I'm pressed for time, ask when is the office slowest. Then I make sure I'm early and ask every now and then (within reason) how they're doing on time...a good excuse if we're running out of oxygen. (we;re not even on oxygen)

I'm not crazy about appointments running late but depending on the type of doctor I try to understand. What I hate is when the staff doesn't even try to keep you informed. Just tell me you're so many minutes (hours) late and I'll take a walk or something and come back later. Karen

I hate when the appointments are late too. Every time Cedric has a debridment of the virus polyps in his upper airway it is late. But I understand why, Dr Preciado always take the time to talk to every parent and stays with you until all your questions and concerns are answered and that sometimes can take time so in this case I don't mind. But otherwise for other appointments it frustrates me a little and I understand you.

We use vent battery power although I usually take the power strip with us. No need for them to know that.

I love how most of the offices have notes posted saying: "If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we will need to reschedule you."

Oh that is a huge pet peeve with me. We quit using the Children's Hospital clinics for this reason. Thankfully we have private insurance coverage on Allison so we can see --mostly-- the same doctors in their private offices. No waiting, no frustration. I am interviewing for a job on the 24th that will hopefully put me in the position to make a change at Children's. I'm nervous about the idea of working again, but this is a great opportunity and only part time. Deb

I hate that too. sam had a hospital appointment a few weeks ago at 4pm, we arrived at 3.50 and finally got in to see the doctor at 5pm. Mind you, this doctor is thorough with all the patients so I can forgive a little, it was just the drive home in rush hour traffice. Normally a 40 minute run - we didn't get home till 7.15pm!!!

That would REALLY make me mad too! If you had gotten to see the doctor then it wouldn't be so bad. We've had plenty of super late running appointments. But to go through all that and have to reschedule and not even see the doctor.

I odnt understand why they keep overbooking like that. Seems like it would make more sense to give enough time in the schedule for the doctor to actually see and talk to each patient. Arghhh
