Default A molded car seat???

Has any one had to have a special carseat for their child? Makiya will have to have a molded carseat/ stroller or something to support her all the way around and i was just wondering if anyone had advice about this.

We use the Special Tomato, it offers great support, plus with options it can turn into a chair inside too! We very rarely ride in a car, but when we do I am sooo thankful for this seat, without it Emma would never be able to ride, she just can't "Do" normal carseats.http://www.adaptivemall.com/sptompscarse.html

We have britax regent...which is the same exact thing as the special needs britax. It works very well for us.

If it's tightened and postioned properly she can't slide anywhere.

If they are talking about an actual molded seat, I'm not sure I'd go that route for the reason that Makiya will outgrow it so quickly. There are a lot of different seating (carseat/stroller) arrangements available that come with a lot of flexibility. I'd steer away from any type of molded seat.

Good luck!

This isn't the same issue, but we used a special tomato tumbleform deluxe feeder seat from the same website that Lori posted. I can't find the exact one we got. (They come in "old version" and "special tomato version".)

I know at least one of the ones we were looking at could have been "upgraded" to also be a car seat, but we didn't need that.

I know that a feeder seat is not at all the same thing, but I wanted to contribute after Ann's comment about a molded seat. These special tomato products come in different sizes, but they are not specially made for individual children. In fact, our EI group was trying to get us one from their closet, but it didn't work out.

What I like about the special tomato is it is adjustable to an extent by adding on diffrent pieces. Our therapist said it would work for Emma for years. We have the base and leg rest portion and diffrent head rests and there are adaptors to keep the hips appart or together. Its nice

I really like this type, it's not a molded seat, but is very supportive
