Have any of you encountered problems with your Mic-Key extensions lately? Several weeks ago I noticed that the extensions were made out of a different material. The new material is very stiff and problematic. I called Ballard (the company that produces and sells Mic-Key products) today and they confirmed that the extensions are being made from a new material. I explained that we were experiencing much difficulty with the tubing kinking and not expanding after being unclamped. Also, the stiffness causes it to pull on the button and irritates the skin. The representative said that he has received other phone calls about this, but not that many. Here is the number if you are having problems, too. I think the more calls they get the better. I want the old ones back!!!! 1-800-528-5591

Thank you for the number. I have noticed the change and it is problematic. In addition to stiffness and not expanding , I found three tubes that were split in the crease from the clamp. They are also kinking off at the secure-lok and blocking food/meds. AND they're hard to clean! I will be calling!!

Same here! I noticed right away that after being clamped, they don't open properly. Thanks for the number!

Thanks for the heads up on this! I was about to order some more extenstion tubes. Maybe I'll wait awhile and use the ones I got till they are beyond usable.
