Hi you all,

I called Zevex to inquire about the cost of a "pink" backpack for Indie because we only get the choice of the black one and it seems a little harsh for such a small child. I thought that I would get her one for Christmas or whatever. I spoke to customer service and before they would tell me the price they wanted to know if I had an account with them, when I said no they told me they were 69.96 US. I almost choked, the backpack is so tiny. My question is: What am I missing? Do I need an account to get a cheaper price? Let me know.

Kelly-

I have no idea, but I hope you find out and can get it cheaper.

Kelly, thats highway robbery for a little pink backpack, geez! Have you tried going through a dme supplier? If your paying for it yourself it might be cheaper then buying directly from Zevex.

Go to the mall! We had a zevex pump for about a year (it's out for repair, Im not sure if we're going to get it back or just keep this kangaroo) but I found quite a few small backpacks that it all fit in quite well. Just make sure it has a double zipper closure so you can run the tubing out the side you want it on. Alli never could actuially wear hers in a backpack, but it made carrying it around cute and easy. I dont think I paid more than $20 for either of them. What we ended up liking best was using a little basket (we call it her picnic basket) and she is learning to carry it around now. She's just too little to master the backpack thing. Good luck, Deb

Hey! I just had an thought, what about one of those cute little backpacks on wheels with the handles? I've seen some cute one out now for little kids that have barbie and dora the explorer on them. Then she can just pull it around by the handle?

I am always amazed and a little sick to see the prices companies charge for the equipment we need for our children.
And yet, the same thing from another distributor that is not labeled for "special needs" is often 1/2 the price or even less.
Lillian Vernon and the Disney Store both have adorable little sturdy backpacks and also the ones on wheels for much less that the $69 you were quoted. You can even get names on
some of them for no charge. Two of our children have Disney backpacks for their wheel chairs and we will be getting Kenya one when we see Mickey in December/January. They do not have the exact one I want on the website so am waiting for the Christmas trip to purchase hers. I paid about $25 for them
and then had a friend machine embroider their names on them.
They are very sturday.

Good Luck and God Bless You.

Val,

I don't have a picture but my mum is a seamstress (among other things) and she thinks she can just whip one up. It is a tiny pack with elastic at the top inside to suspend the feed bag. It is a travesty to charge 70.00 for a baby back pack. Thanks Val.
