Bread, cookies, cute trach kids and going home!
Yesterday we had a wonderful visit with Robin and her husband. Robin brought us some delicious homemade bread. Parker ate about half the loaf today after his MLB. He gobbled a pack of graham crackers and then he started in on the bread and I didn't think he was going to stop.
This morning, we had our scope. Dr. Cotton said things looked perfect and that we don't have to come back for three months. Of course, I double checked that with him because I couldn't believe that was what came out of his mouth. So, we are staying tonight and leaving in the morning.
We saw Tommy on his way into the OR. And on our afternoon rounds of the B5 floor we found Miss Sienna's room and had a visit. She is adorable. Parker, the kid who flirts with every nurse, wasn't sure what to do with her. I don't think he believed me when I told him that chicks dig scars.
To top off our cute trach kid tour, we ran into Jennie and Hannah downstairs so they sat with us while we ate lunch.
It was a very busy day for Parker, socially.
Cookies. Let's not forget the cookies. Today Parker was finally allowed off of the floor so we went to the cafeteria for lunch and for the first time since we've been here they had DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. I got some in honor of Deb and I hoarded them all to myself this evening!
That's all. I'm tired and glad to be going home. I miss the big boys and so does Parker.

What a day! - Not back for 3 months? That's SO great. Especially considering your move! I bet you'll be glad to get back to the big boys. And put your feet up!

What a nice thing to have a fun day as your send off! And a three month reprieve -- what a deal! I think someone should bring double chocolate chip cookies to the trach conference!

Suzanne,
I gotta stick with you. You saw everyone today.
Glad to hear Parker likes the bread, did he let you have any at all?
That's wonderful that you don't have to come back for 3 months. That's amazing. Good thing you doubled checked with Cotton. Sometimes you gotta make sure you actually heard what you think he says sometimes.
Have a safe trip home
Robin
