Question Purple?

The last few times I've checked Alize's residual, his stomach contents have had quite a few purple shreds in them. What do you think? Partially digested blood? No new meds, nothing purple in his diet. Karen

Old blood? It can look kind of purple. There was this one time a few days after Ainsley had her G-tube surgery and she had some bleeding and the stomach contents were a dark brownish purplish color. She ended up having to go back to the hospital for a day or two.

How much are we talking about? Just some strands here and there? That I wouldn't worry about, maybe he pulled his g-tube and it bled a little. If it's a lot that would be concerning.

Is he on prevacid? That turns purple in the tummy, but usually I see dots from Ayden.

He is on prevacid so I discount any purple at the next feed but this was over 8 hours later so I'm not sure. I guess I'll just keep watching since he looks good. Karen

Jimmy is on prevacid and some days I still see purple in his stomach 10 or 12 hours after he's had it. I think some of it might get stuck inside the mic-key button so it doesn't go away completely untill I'm using it again and it gets flushed all the way down.
