Default Vent numbers and Talking

Anthony's numbers have been high since he has started to try and talk. He babbles all day long. I have noticed his respritory rate go up as well as his VI and pressure. His RT says it is normal for a child to do so while talking?

His number get all outta wack while is being a wiggle worn in his room!
But his O2 never drops!

I know that when Emma is "talking" her PIP goes up higher, and sometimes she sets her high pressure alarm off when she yells at me. Emma's resp rate is pretty consistant most of the time, but I will have to look next time she is talking up a storm, she might be breathing more or less even????

Ayden can really make the vent read wild numbers as he has gotten older. When he first started talking the rate increased, as well as volume and pressure - I don't remember how much though. This goes for any time he learns something new that requires an extra effort on his part, his resp rate especially increase. As long as it's not effecting his O2 or he looks distressed, we were told not to worry.

We joke that Ayden plays "darth-baby" (he uses the vent as it's giving him a breath and lets it escape through his mouth and nose) and sounds like darthvader. When he does this, he ends up with volumes hitting 400 or so. Then he rolls with laughter and laughs so hard he high pressures. While doing all this, he sats just fine. I sure freaks the new nurses out when I forget to tell them about it.
