medela clario pump
I ordered one from amazon and it kept being delayed. I decided to call Medela directly--it was sooooo easy. They offer the pumps for a very reasonable price--not as cheap as amazon, but you will actually receive the machine! They said we should receive it in 3 to 4 days. We got the deluxe model with the ac/dc and car adapter. I'll let you know how it is when it arrives.
The sales rep said it will fit in a diaper bag or back pack easily. The box it ships in is 15 x 8 x 12, it weighs 9.8 lbs for shipping--that includes a carrying case and accessories. I'm excited!!! It's sad what gets me excited these days...

Funny, I just ordered one direct from the company today also. They initially quoted me $580 altogether but get this: the rep called me back and said they had a different price for patients who ordered. I can't remember quite what she said but I know it was over $100 less. Sorry I don't have the number on me, I pulled it up by googling medela and going to contact us. I too got the deluxe since it has the car adapter. It was item #0147220. Hope this helps. Karen
PS: Replacement cannisters are reasonable at about $9 each and can be washed in the dishwasher.

We have the AC version and have not used it yet. It is much quiter and about 1/2 the size. It seems like direct to Medela is the way to go. The canisters are reasonable, but keep in mind they are only 500ml, so you may be emptying more often. I plan on picking up some extras. Keep in mind that their hose has the thumb port on it, and is meant for a special type of catheter. No biggie, I just plan on getting the hoses from our DME still. Although, the trachoe suction catheters without the thumb port are tempting at $40/100. Wish we could get the money directly and but those, as we would then have enough to use without washing.

Tommy's Dad---what are you referring to when you say the hose has a thumb port? What type of catheter? I cant think of a suction part I'd call a "hose" so I'm a little lost. Can you post a photo? We're waiting on some funds to come in to order one, we can get reimbursed from our Flex. Medical Spending Account, but still have to pay for it up front and wait to be reimbursed. i really want to get one before the new school year starts (8-14 here). Thanks deb

Oh, I get it now...you were meaning the tubing! Duh, some days I am past stupid. It looks like the tubing from the standard units would fit for use with regular suction catheters. I watched the little movie on it, it wasn't available last time I visited the website. Now I am really hyped about it, I can't wait to order one. Deb
