Unhappy Helping a neighbor

I need of some help... I have recently met a neighbor who has a trach or what would be consider a trach.. He is using a oxygen tube for his trach. He has no insurance or really any money to by trachs. He has been walking around using this tube for his life support. He has been using this for three years and has kept him from dying. He can not breathe through his mouth or nose just through the made up trach. I was so sadden that our government wont even help one man have at least two trachs. Does anyone have supplies that they would we willing to send me for this man. My daughter has a trach and I do not believe that her trachs would fit him. He is about a size 7 or 8. If anyone could spare one or two that would be greatly appreciated. Or if you have any idea who I can contact to get this older man some medical help. His doctor who did his trach after he had cancer is no longer in practice so no one is wanting to help him. Please as a parent and a neighbor I would not want my child to be treated like this man is.

Did he ever have a proper trach?

Brian's pulmo. told me that in adults who are going to be on continuous O2 they can put the o2 tubing straight in the neck. He said it had the advantage of not being on the face and allowing low flow O2 without the hazards of a trach. It is not supposed to be a trach, it is just a technique used for some people. He was discussing it with me because we were decanning Brian while on O2. He decided to have us use a nasal canula on Brian instead.

Just wondering what the man started out with.
