Anthony got his Trach at 3 months and a week later followed the g-tube. He can take about 2 oz at a time threw a bottle and he does not aspirate much ( his swallow study came out good) We havent been able to get an OT to work with him on oral feedings and he will sometimes take some things by mouth but not much and he has recently started refused bottles....but it does depend on the child, anthonys buddy who is the same age as him and has a trach eats everything by mouth now, but has the gtube to make up what he doesnt get.

Trachs and g-tubes do not go hand in hand, although many kids do have both depending on their diagnosis.

My son was trached for 4 years, but never had a g-tube.
