We were just given a perscription for a xopenex inhaler. Has anyone has tried this? Do you think it did as good a job as the nebulized form? It would be a lot faster, which would be very nice.
I guess I am wondering if in the middle of a wheezy period, which would be better to use.

Mom to Breanna (15), David (12), Christopher and Brian (almost 5). Brian decanned in 2006 and had his g-tube removed in 2007.  B & C are surviving triplets. Brooke survived for 1 month.

Hi Sandra
We don't use that inhaler but I have a couple of meds that I have both the inhaler and neb (atrovent, intal, duoneb) and I found that the inhaler works faster but doesn't last as long. Also how are Brians secretions these days? the neb always works great to thin those if they get thick which you can't do with the inhaler. It is nice how quick the inhaler is in comparison to waiting out the whole neb treatment

Sam has the ventolin inhalers, and they are quicker than waiting for a neb, but I always feel that the neb works better for Sam, I think it depends on the child. How is Brian coping with the snot since decann? Is he able to cough up ok.
