Default We want a lighter vent!! Just found out about the smaller ones..

Hey, we have been using the ltv 950 since she came home from the hospital. She is almost 4 and I am just hearing about these other vents that are smaller and lighter! Is it worth the switch? We still carry her, and her ltv doesn't fit properly in her stroller so this sounds like it would be a huge improvement. We are constantly battling our extra batteries getting distroyed from the things bending on the sprint pack. T have an internal battery of 11hrs sounds like a dream come true!!!
Anyway... Any experience would be appreciated.

Mary

I don't know how the ltv compares to the trilogy, but I like ours. It has a carry bag and the battery lasts about 6 hours or so. I wouldn't call it "light" but it's only a bit heavier than the suction.

Cillian started out with the LTV as well. We switched to a Trilogy in April of 2011 and really like it. It is a little bit lighter and battery life is a lot longer. Batteries fit in the device so there is nothing external to hook for battery. Charging cord is also small with no large "power brick". We use a regular double stroller and we can fit the vent, him, suction, oxygen, and supply bag in with no issues. You could always ask your home care company to see one if they carry them and then make your decision.

We want to get the Trilogy too, but our insurance company wouldn't approve the switch. Since we've had the LTV's for almost 3 years, they consider us as owning them. So they wouldn't get us new ones.

Sorry i have no advice on the lighter vent, but wanted to make a suggestion about the ltv and stroller... we have an ltv 1150 and we use two large carabiners to hook to the backpack the vent is in to the back of the stroller to "hang there" we also use the carabiners to hang the vent from shopping carts when shopping... works great for us... used this method on single stroller and double stroller when i had her little sister. good luck
