Hello. My daughter has been trached since age 5 weeks and had a tracheal reconstruction at age 4 months. 3 months later she has too much scar tissue at the graft site to be decannulated. I am sorry to hear that things are not going well for your little guy. I am thinking that the trach reconstruction does more harm than good. My daughter has not had any problems eating, but she still has a trach. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. It seems like they would make sure that there would be no problems with the scar tissue before they retrached him. I do not understand why they are retraching him if he has no distress.
