Lily's Mom

We just got back from vacation this week; it was the first time we had flown since 9/11. We just took the scissors and hemostats out of Lily's emergency bag, because we use the velcro trach ties and don't really need the scissors. We did call the FAA before our trip and asked them about taking Lily's equipment. They said to have your doctor type a letter on his/her office letterhead stationery saying that your child has medical needs requiring use of ....(scissors, hemostats, etc.). We never got the letter, just got lazy and took the sharp metal stuff out of the bag. We didn't have any problems with security other than the security people not being sure what our suction machine was and having to have it checked out. Good luck and have a safe trip!
