I just wanted to say thank you to everyone regarding the information given about the Lp10 and the Newport.
The Newport was delivered to the hospital last week and Connor is suppose to be switched over to it today. Â*Hopefully he will be home with a much smaller lighter vent in the next week or two.
I think part of why the didn't want to put Connor on this vent is it ended up costing the hospital more money. Â*Can you believe NONE of their RT's knew how to operate this vent. Â*So this past weekend they had to send all of their RT's to an inservice day to train on this vent.
Which meant they had to pay the salary of the RT's for this training as well as bring in extra people to cover their shifts.
Hopefully now they won't be trying to send other patients home on this vent anymore.
