Donovan is starting to walk. His physical therapist suggested we get a larger toy he can push around. Something tall with a wider base. Any suggestions? Donovan is almost 20 months and pretty tall for his age, about 35 inches. We have one toy he can push, but it's too flimsy and small. He needs something more sturdy with a wider base. I don't care where I need to get it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated! It'll be too cool when he can walk - he's almost 30 lbs and he's killing my back!

we got about 4 different push toys, his walker we have can be a push toy and it has a really sturdy base, it's a kolcraft. we have an older model of the fisher price push toy, its ok for them once they are more sturdy, we also have a ride on/push toy, that is also good when they are more sturdy, but i would recommend the gobble and go hippo with the peek a blocks, it is great it can convert to ride on too it is really sturdy, i got it walmart.com during x-mas and got free shipping, plus it was $5 dollars cheaper than in the store, just shop around online for good deals.
good luck

We are also having problems finding toys for Aidan to push around. Our PT suggested we try one of those toy shopping carts. She said we could put books and other toys in the cart to help weigh it down. We haven't tried this yet.....

Just wanted to report. Val, the Little Tykes thing is perfect! Whitney - sounds like you don't need anything! Isn't that cool! There are some other toys I found on the internet from Leaps and Bounds, but they were much more expensive than the Little Tykes thing and it's really nice.
We bought Brady the little wagon/push toy from One Step Ahead. It is sturdy enough for him to push it and later it will be his first wagon. It is great. He also has one of the little toys that he can push or ride on. I personally like the wagon better.
Good Luck and God Bless You.

We LOVE the Little Tykes shopping cart. It has the added bonus of they can fill it up. So it is great.
Good Luck,

I have the same one as MAtthew's mom. It's awesome. You can control how much effort it takes to make it move. It's great!
