how often do you guys change the trach?

We change Hannah's trach every 2 weeks per dr. orders. There are always those unexpected plugs tho that can require more frequent changing.

We change Kenya's trach at least once a week and lately have been changing it several times a day as she is pulling it out. The little Houdidni.

We change Franks trach at least once every few days.

When Jonathan first got his Trach it was changed every week. Now we change it every other week. That really seems to work out well.

We use to change Hannah's trach every week until a few months ago. Now we change it every other week, unless she is sick or breaks the bulb for the cuff (which lately has been quite often).

We change Zachary's trach once a month.

We change Jack's trach maybe every 6 months, well, we have only been changing it to go up a size since he had a Bivona trach placed last year. which you can go up to 12 months without changing it. It sounds a little odd, but we have never had any infection around the trach, only grannulation every now and then.
We clean around his trach each day with saline and a sterile buds.
