Well, we had to pay for COBRA coverage for about 4 months during a move and job change. It was definitely expensive, but we didn't have a choice. Not sure what type of advice or help you're looking for, but I'll answer any question I can.

we have cobra right now , we have had it for like 29 months, and we will trying to transition into a new plan, which i know are very costly, we have been adviced to go into a hipaa policy beause of as you know preexisiting conditions, and we are trying to find a plan as we speak.. in Va not all insurance companies have to accept you, but there are ones that are not allowed to deny you either , but heres the thing they can charge anything that they want..

did u guys transition to another job..or did u get a private policy?

We transitioned from a Cobra policy to an employer policy with my husband's job without a problem. When you do it this way the insurance company can not exclude preexisting conditions as long as you have proof that you were covered up until the time you changed policies (at least that's the way it is in Florida).

I had a Cobra plan on Braden about 11years ago and it was about $400.00 each month (just on him).
