emily started walking today! she had been progressing quite quickly in the last month or so after no signs of wanting to walk at all - last week on holiday she walked holding one hand and didn't crawl anywhere. tonight she was standing and decided to try to get her shadow and took 2 small steps forward by herself. she was so amazed she just kept on doing it and is now up to 10 steps by herself!
she is 2 years and 2 months. her gpa and uncle were here to see her first steps and we are all so chuffed :-)
can't wait to tell her stupid paediatrician who predicted she'd never walk.

That's brilliant news Clare!!!! Yeah for emily!:)
Bet you can't wait to tell your ped. Just shows that our lo's will do things when they want and in their own time, rather than when the supposed experts expect them to!

Congrats! I know just how you feel. Eric started walking about 3 weeks ago. He still crawls some but is walking more than crawling now.
That's just amazing - so great! Stupid no-nothing pede!

I hate when the dr's say something definitive.....they should realize that our kids have minds of their own and will do things in time and when they want!
She is so adorable and will be walking more and more as she wants!

Yeah Emily!!! That is great news! And really, why do doctors say crap like that? It is certainly not going to do anything at the time, but make you feel bad - and all for nothing. I am so happy for you all that Emily reached this amazing milestone!

it is really exciting.
anyone who has eyes can see that emily was gonna be able to work...her paed is a fool :-) we speak to him as little as possible and vice versa!

I was going to suggest emailing him a video, but it would be MUCH more satisfying to show him in person, wouldn't it? Go Emily! In a couple of months, she'll be running and you will be playing chase!
