Am I the only weirdo that likes to keep all their old PMs? My box is usually 95%+ full. I only delete them a few at a time enough to be able to keep receiving them. What do other people do? Just delete without a second thought? I know that's probably the best answer. You'd die if you saw how many e-mails I have in my personal e-mail in-box. But I really do sometimes refer back to them WAY later. Anyway...having to pick which PMs to delete ever other day is :hairpull: getting old.

Susan,I usually get reminders to empty mine, cos I forget. I sometimes find I have the same message twice because I have replied to it, so I delete those. Could you not copy the ones you may need to refer back to onto your computer then delete them from here? funny, only just thought of that myself!:D

The default limit for stored private messages is 50. I just doubled the limit to 100. Hope this helps.:)

Oh, Susan, I do EXACTLY the same thing. Truly. Personal as well as PM. And then when I was looking for someone's address, I found out I'd finally deleted it!

How about printing your PMs for future reference? :) I'm one for making a hard copy of emails and PMs that I don't want to forget.

I avoid printing as much as possible; wastes paper. I'd cut and paste important messages into some sort of digital document, maybe word or an email to yourself. This makes searching much easier too. Gmail has an excellent search tool and 2gb of space.

I'm sure Ann is very organized with her papers, but if you're like me, you've already got lots of papers you'll never look at again or can't find when you need them.

Interesting that when computers first became common place there was a lot of talk about the "paperless office". But unfortunately, computers tend to generate even more papers! :(

That's funny about the paperless office! I was the office manager for a small business, and they had access to catalogs and all sorts of things online. Their office was drowning in paper! They were so in the habit of having things on papaer that they printed everything! And then they still got mailings and catalogs a well. It was an overload to be sure. I am all for paperless if possible. I can never find the piece of paper I need. Deb

Thank You! Of course I'm sure I'll still have the problem when I get close to 100 but that's a better number for me. I feel like you never know when you might need to go back to some e-mail you never expected to. I save all the really important ones in their own folder but then there are the times that you need to look up some odd person's e-mail address or find the date that something happened.

I did try digitally saving some of the PM's but really I doubt I'll remember to go back to them. It's mostly just a matter of using the PMs to recall member id's to compensate for my extremely poor memory. ;)

I too like to save paper and keep stuff electronically. Do any of you remember when e-mail was new and people printed all the e-mails for their records? At least they did that at the office I worked at. Can you imagine if we all still did that?!
