Wow, my heart goes out to you. Â* http://www.tracheostomy.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif Â* What a difficult situation you are in and I do remember being there almost five years ago. Â*My son is ventilator dependent and always will be. Â*I have three other children and I work outside the home full-time. Â*We get nursing Monday through Friday while my husband and I are at work. Â*I can't even begin to tell you what to do, but it is a difficult road ahead. Â*I can only say, keep talking to other people, get as much information as you can and to heck with the doctors trying to rush this decision. Â*Jack's doctors tried to get me to have him trached months before I was ready. Â*It was only after I tried everything possible to avoid the trach without success that I finally agreed. Â*I wish I had more to offer, but just know that the people on this board are a wonderful source of comfort as well as information. Â*You might want to move your post to the pediatric trach site (vs. the vent site) as I think you might get a lot more answers to your post, it is more active than this site. Â*Good luck with your decision and I'll be praying for you and your family.
