Hello im a 47 female with a trach and on a vent only at nite. I have been on vent for two years. They tried BiPap and that was horrible. I dont blow off my o2 so my carbon dioxide builds up and i get sick. I have been real healthy, i weigh about 80 lbs. Im on o2 24/7 I have three nurses total, I have two sons, 2l and 25. My youngest is in boot camp for the army national guards. I had a significant other but she couldnt handle the nurses being in our lives 365 days a year. I dont blame her. I sure would like to just find a companion to share my life with, Im a spunky person. I ride motorcycle, believe that one lol I have always been a strong person and nothing gets me down. I would like to hear from other adults with trachs. And mothers of kids boy could i tell you stories lol Watch them nurses like a hawk. Espeicailly the nite time ones. So if anyone wants to chat I also have an email at tranorris@yahoo.com, this site is pretty hard to figure out lol Ok I have introduced myself, now let me hear from some of you........have a great day, and remember it could always be worse lol ................tammy

Hi Tammy - welcome to the board.
Your situation sounds very similar to Becky's(my wife).
I think it's awesome when adults get on this board and can help answer some of the parents' questions when it comes to things like how it feels to do this or that when their kids in a lot if cases cannot communicate things like that yet.
We don't have any nurses(no real need). I also think it's awesome that you had 2 kids!
