Alli is now able to climb out of the playpen and I'm sure the crib will not be far behind. How did any of you handle the transition to toddler beds? She sleeps in our room, but I'm very nervous about the prospect of a "silent" child being able to get up and around while I'm sleeping! She is 18 months old, and sometimes seems very smart but at other times seems closer to her evaluation stages (6 months emotionally). ANy suggestions? Thanks, Deb

I heard from someone on another board about crib tents carried by Toys R Us. This sounds like an excellent solution for me. Maybe it would help someone else facing the same dilema soon. Deb http://www.twinEnterprises.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Congratulations!!Crawling out of the crib is a milestone. Our 2 year old crawled out when he was 20 months old and looked forward to being put to bed so he could crawl out! He has a trach for vocal cord paralysis and even when not capped, he can make breathy vocalizations--enough that we can pick him up easily on the monitors. We use a Radio Shack close circuit camera that works great, even in the dark. It has great audio and allows us to hear his vocalizations even with his humidifier going. ( we put humidifier at opposite end of bed from the camera. I'm not sure of cost as it was a gift but it's a GREAT monitor and worth every penny. To keep Skye safe, we lock door that goes from his room to bathroom and put a high gate in front of his door so he can't come out of his room to wander downstairs. Lately he gets up quietly in the morning and puts his plug on himself then lounges around in bed waiting to see if I've figured out he's up yet!! Good luck http://www.twinEnterprises.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
