Welcome!!
What is your employers concern? I could see maybe it might be a concern for you being exposed to germs and at increased risk of being sick, but as long as you wash those hands all the time that should be okay. Are you able to talk/use a speaking valve? In my head I've heard of nurses with trachs in the past but I can't remember where. You might get more traffic on the pediatric boards, that's where most of the action is.
Good luck!! I would think that the ADA act would mean your employer would have to make concessions for you to work.... but I'm no expert...
