what is pseudamonis? what are the syptoms? Ive herd alot about it and I know it is some sort of infection but not really sure what....just wondering

From what I was told by her pediatrician is that pseudamonis is a type of infection commonly found in trach babies. They have sucessfully treated Kaylyn's pseudamonis with antibiotics. I could tell when the pseudamonis is very strong when her secretions are thick and stinky. I just be careful not to have anyone sick get near Kaylyn. Hope this helps.

Emma has pseduamonis, and it lead to her getting pnemonia but she never had one symtom of the pseduamonis, no smell no secretion issue nothing. She just got gunky in her lungs and we took her to the hospital and they said pnemonia and all the tests also showed pseaumonis. They put her on very strong antibiotics which she ended up being allergic to so they had to figure all that out all the while trying to fix the effects of the allergic reaction.

But for us there were no symptoms. I have also been told some kids carry it constantly in their trachs and its normal not to even treat it if they do

Pseudomonas is something lots of trached kids get colonised with. It doesn't always cause any symptoms, but a funky smell from the trach is usually a sign

The last culture of pseudamonis that Ayden grew, they actually just let it go and didn't give him any antibiotics. But we had to monitor him more closely to make sure he secretions didn't change - they had become yellow every morning. But other than that, no other signs. Nothing ever came of it and did just fine w/out antibiotics.

thats awsome, cause Marqus has had a funny smell around his trach site for a couple of days and I could have sworn they said that word so I thought I would ask, they are not treating him right now they was to wait and see what happens and if it goes away.thank you everyone
