Gaithy had a large granuloma removed in March 2002. It was extremely large and it took a long time for the surgeon to get a handle on how she should remove it and then to remove it. Since it was so big and there was some tracheal bleeding after the surgery, Gaithy was admitted overnight. We were suctioning a generous amount of bright red blood at first, when we got into the hospital room, but it soon cleared and was fine by later that evening. We went home at 10am the next morning. Gaithy was very fussy the evening and whole night after the surgery, but this was probably mainly because she had been under anesthesia for a LONG time and was having trouble coming out of it - she was so groggy and didn't understand it all. The next day she was fine. I think I gave her tylenol before we left the hospital because we had a three-hour drive home. But she was fine. The CO2 laser had been used, no complications with Gaithy.
